Patients

A tumor disease usually means a serious incision in life for patients and relatives. Many answers are sought in the context of tumor diagnosis. Having knowledge about the disease is important in order to make individually appropriate decisions. With our information and also experience reports of former Cyberknife patients in this category we want to support you, advise and accompany you.

If you have any questions, you can contact us without obligation and without charge.

Cyberknife radiosurgery is a high precision, pain-free, robot guided radiation treatment which in certain cases can be an alternative or adjunct to an open surgical intervention.

Multiple high energy beams are focussed on a target within the body where they become effective and destroy the tumor. One single beam cannot cause damage, but bundling of all beams in the target leads to destruction of the tumor tissue without harming the adjacent healthy tissue.

Medical experience

The Cyberknife system is based on radiosurgical principles which have been in clinical use for 30 years. Over 100000 patients world wide have already been treated successfully with the Cyberknife technology. The Munich center is one of the most experienced Cyberknife centers in Europe. A great number of scientific studies have also been published in international medical journals.

Duration of treatment

The Cyberknife treatment as a rule is a single session treatment. It lasts between 45 minutes to 90 minutes depending on the indication. Immediately after the treatment the patient can resume his normal daily activities.

A further visit for a follow-up examination is recommended after 4 to 6 months only.

Please feel free to consult us for information on cost of treatment.
